Practice Manager

Start Date: December 2008
What brought you into the animal field?
Prior to starting in veterinary medicine, I worked in nursing homes and group homes, and as a caregiver. I wanted a change of pace and scenery, but still utilizing the skills that I acquired as a caregiver. Many of the residents I took care of could not voice their needs, concerns, etc., we had to be their voice. The animal field seemed like the obvious choice to apply those skills.
List of places you have worked and experience in the animal field
Advanced Animal Care of Mt Pleasant is the only veterinary clinic that I have worked with. I was hired here in December 2008 and found my passion and never had a reason to look elsewhere.
Anything else work related you would like to post (:ie special skills, specialties)
AAC has allowed me to grow in this clinic from kennel tech when I started in 2008 to now the
Practice Manager. I’ve since earned by certification in veterinary practice management. _Dr. Leslie
Steele also has allowed me to grow my love for rescue while working with her and her non-profit, East
Cooper Pet Relief. I have a passion for those animals that need us the most.
Where are you from and where have you been?
I was raised in Rochester, New York. I went to school and lived near the Syracuse area until I moved to Mt. Pleasant in 2008. My goal in the coming years is to travel to as many places in the US as I can and experience adventures along the way.
