What brought you into the animal field?
Growing up I always had a love for animals. After seeing how Dr. Steele treated my own animals with such care and warmth, I decided this was the field I was meant to become a part of.
Experience in the animal field:
Advanced Animal Care is the only professional setting I’ve worked in but I’ve grown up with animals my whole life. I’m currently Low Stress Handling certified as well as Fear Free certified.
Where are you from and where have you been?
I grew up in Kissimmee, Florida ( Yes, Disney was in my backyard!)and moved to West Ashley to take care of my brother's dogs while he was working in the Grand Cayman Islands. I fell in love with the city and currently live in Mt. Pleasant with my husband and son.
Do you have Pets?
I have a dachshund, Albert, and three cats who think they’re dogs- Winston, a domestic short hair, Elliot, a tabby, and Murphy, a tuxedo.
What are your hobbies/interests?
Anything Dachshund and Charcuterie related! I’m known as the crazy doxie lady around here and even named my charcuterie business Albert and Asher after my pup and son! Also, anything that involves glitter, I’m in.
What do you enjoy about having or working with animals?
I enjoy being able to help them in a time of need, being a voice for them, and just overall enhancing their well-being. The bonus snuggles aren’t half bad either.
